From this... to this!

Post course feedback is crucial for any organisation for reviewing the success of its delivery and outcomes for both teacher and participant.Takeaways for this month’s course range from:
“My confidence has improved. Thank you." Collette
"Ability to think on my feet" Jon
“Not being scared to just go for it! Very safe, welcoming environment." Jane H
“Very welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Good techniques on how to get initial ideas.” George
"Writing/performing atmosphere created by Maggie. Getting a full seven min set together over five weeks." Portia
"Soo good for confidence – thanks." Billie.
"Loved the space and encouragement. Having space to try, and the freedom to fail really helped me find new material. Love the course!" James P
"Overall, course has done wonders for my self-confidence. Many thanks." Jo BK.
"Slowing down, enjoying the things that go wrong. Savouring the moment. Allowing myself to laugh on the mic." Samsy B
"I’ve been doing a better job editing this time. Learning to be more brutal." Law.
"I’ve found it hard." Mike.
Thank you for all the feedback, it really helps.
Mike's comment is important.
Doing anything for the first time is hard – and stand up is no different. When we leave our comfort zone – it is pretty nerve wracking, but it keeps our minds open to new and exciting possibilities.
After five weeks, Mike, amongst other newbies, delivered his first set. And we rooted for him as he hit the mic. Self-deprecation, killing the fourth wall (connecting with the audience), creating a character, truly working in the moment, all generated vulnerability, likeability and laughter.
And Mike’s coming back to hit the mic, again. Hurray!
There’s never any pressure to be funny, just a sliver of bravery, curiosity and a desire to boost your confidence and find the funny in almost anything and everything.
Want to see what you’re capable of?
As usual, a huge thanks for your support from Maggie and the team :)
