September – The “Other New Year”

ree

September might not come with fireworks or dodgy renditions of Auld Lang Syne, but for students (and anyone starting something fresh) it’s very much a new year. Exciting? Definitely. Nerve-wracking? Almost certainly. First classes can feel like that first day at school – new faces, new challenges, and the eternal worry of whether you’ve brought the right snacks.

One of my past comedy students, Jae Gatz, summed it up perfectly: “I was a tad scared at the start… and then it was absolutely fine.” (See? Bravery rewarded – and no one even had to eat lunch alone in the toilets.)

Next week I’m kicking off a brand-new course with a mix of familiar faces and fresh ones – and everyone is super welcome. Plus, Exmouth folks, keep your eyes peeled: specialist comedy classes are coming your way soon.

Want a sneak peek of what the courses are all about? Join us on Thursday 2 October for a short workshop and the Stand-Up Comedy Mash Up – or just come for the Mash Up if you’d rather sit back and laugh than risk becoming the next rising star yourself.

Come for the comedy, stay for the community, and maybe discover your funny bone’s been waiting for its debut all along. 😄
