Thanks, Molly!

I hear Molly’s words ringing in my ears (one of the cracking comedians who is currently attending my course):
“I was terrified of coming on the course… and then found it fine!”
The first time doing anything is scary — but stand-up comedy seems to have a reputation all of its own.So many people say, “Oh no, that’s not me. I could never do that. I’d rather watch. I'm not funny.”
Fair enough, you are not alone in that thought — until you remember that most of us are perfectly happy to tell a Christmas cracker joke (the free-flowing drinkies may help)… even though the jokes rarely crack more than a merit-based smile!
Last week, eleven brave and funny souls took to the stage at my monthly Comedy Mash-Up at Exeter City Gate, and next week we’ve got a bumper end-of-course showcase with sixteen new performers. Week by week, they’ve built the confidence to share stories, find their funny, and surprise themselves – as well as entertain us.
Join us in November in either Exeter or Exmouth (see all events on the 'What's On Page' and discover how to turn fear into laughter — and how to finally make a Christmas cracker joke actually funny. 🎄😂
And a huge well done to our closing act at last weeks Mash-Up: Dee Dee for her hilarious and inimitable performance!
Next Thursday I find out if I am a finalist in the Educator Award catergory of the West County Women Awards. I've been thrilled by the response of all the many former students of mine; nearly 100 people commented on a social media post publicising this success. Wow :) Thank you peeps.
As usual, a huge thanks for your support from Maggie and the team :)
