Women! Women! Women!
More women than ever before are coming to my stand up comedy workshops. Hurrah. And they are brilliant – as are the few fab fellas on my current course - such a turnaround!.
I am passionate about seeing more women standing up and sharing their take on their lives and the world.
It’s the third week of the course and we’ve had tales about gyms, Pringles, supermarket shopping, books, cows, One Direction, Mean Girls, Birds "caw, caw", murder and more!
Mental health has deteriorated significantly for women since the pandemic, according to The National Library of Medicine. They explain that the gender difference could be because of ‘the distinct experiences of women during the pandemic, including the burden of unpaid domestic labour, changes in economic activity, and experiences of loneliness.’
And so, I am keen to offer opportunities for women to find their mojo again. So many women have expressed to me how the classes have helped them. If you fancy dipping your toe in the water, check out my short fun workshop in June. Free entry to the ensuing gig – with comedians who are all people who have attended my workshops at some point in time.
Let’s hear more stories from both women and men. Let’s do this people.
