This week’s theme? A lateral pain in the arse

Not metaphorically—my piriformis muscle has declared war and it is NOT funny. So it’s been a heady mix of massages, little white pills - ibuprofen, and gallons of water. Basically, my body is a day spa with attitude.
Hope you’re faring better—physically, mentally, or both. I’m lucky enough to work with funny folk, so laughter is my therapy. I use it to lift my mood, but my nerves scream - "No! Do not lift a thing! Let’s be honest, nothing quite compares to the oddly satisfying agony of an elbow digging into your gluteus maximus to quieten that nagging voice.
Anyway, enough about my rear end...
Here is a little something to lift your spirits though: In conjunction with the rather smashing Giggle Fest and Locally Sourced, I’m co-hosting a comedy cabaret bash on Saturday 7 June at Bootleggers, as part of the Exeter Comedy Festival. Expect comedy aerobics -Yes! Musical hilarity, and stand-up delights. We kick off at 8:45pm—space is tight, so grab your ticket before we’re standing room only (or sitting on each other’s laps – oooo err.)
Also! My final comedy course of summer 2025 begins Tuesday 10 June at Exeter City Gate Hotel. In just six weeks, you’ll create a cracking five-minute set and perform it at our end-of-course showcase. Only three spots left—jump in if you fancy turning your pain into punchlines.
Because let’s face it: comedy is mostly trauma in a sparkly jacket.
Come along. Let’s laugh our way through the aches – and at best hope the funny bone takes our minds off them!
As usual, a huge thanks for your support from Maggie and the team :)
