Siempre una estudiante...
January has soooooo many days – the same as several other months, but it just seems to last longer. Kind of like when I do a fun Park Run, get half-way and say, “I want this to stop! Now. Please…” But, dear readers, we will soon be leaping into an extended February.
February 29th – Leap Year, has prompted some interesting traditions ranging from an official Leap Day Cocktail recipe: Gin paired with sweet vermouth and the brandy-based orange sweetness of Grand Marnier; people born on this day being called ‘leaplings’ or ‘leapers’, to the blessing of women proposing to men. And I suppose it’s another, New Year opportunity to ‘mix’ things up a little and branch out. A hotchpotch of the unknown…
This year, I want to write and perform more and so I thought I’d be a student myself from time to time. I’ve already taken part in both a storytelling, and a compering class in 2024, which are catalysts for me to improve my work.
It’s fun to be a student and I love expanding my brain and its neurons. Not my waist. Oh, and I've taken up learning Spanish - Me encanta!
So, I am planning more inspirational learning experiences and hopefully will be providing innovative modes of skill building for my future students too, to become seriously good comedians and achieve their goals.
Tip: Never, whoop down the mic – let the audience do the whooping… oops! Noted – and on we go!
PS – I’m committed to walking 2 miles per day throughout February for a Women’s Refuge Charity – in memory of someone very special… No donation too small. Thank you dear people.
